SYNTHESES
Humanity seems to be at a pivotal moment in its evolution. We hugely accelerated and surpassed biological evolution through social and individual development. We now have the ability to consciously and intentionally shape our destiny. However, there are two opposing forces at play. One pushing towards greater fragmentation in forms of social polarization, economic inequality and nationalism is likely to lead to some kind of authoritarianism or civilisational collapse. But rather than move backward or self-destruct, we can take another leap in evolution. For that, we need to integrate the best ideas and practices at the personal, social, and epistemological levels. WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS
It is no surprise that in this crucial yet hugely uncertain time, many of us struggle and occasionally need support and assistance to cope with challenges or grow. However, one-to-one professions are fragmented and stuck in their limiting frameworks. That’s why Nash developed Personal Consultancy – the synthesis of psychotherapy, counselling, coaching and psychoeducation that help clients get in the driving seat of their lives. For more information on this model and what to expect in sessions, see the Personal Consultancy page.
DR NASH POPOVIC
Nash was born and spent the first part of his life in a socialist political system and the second part in a capitalist one, which was a great opportunity to experience the advantages and disadvantages of both. From an early age, he was also exposed to materialism/atheism as well as religion, but found that neither was fully satisfactory nor could help him make sense of some personal experiences. In search of answers, he developed an interest in philosophy and studied world literature that seemed more promising ways of capturing human experience, but although valuable, they also appeared insufficient. While doing compulsory army service, the idea of an integrative approach to personal development was conceived, which later evolved into Personal Synthesis. To develop it further, he moved to the UK, trained as an existential therapist and completed his doctoral studies in Philosophy of Education. He then worked as a therapist, ran numerous programmes based on Personal Synthesis in deprived areas of London and in parallel worked on bringing science and spirituality together, which culminated in The Synthesis. Dissatisfied with ‘single approaches’ to therapy, Nash developed Personal Consultancy and established a Master's in Integrative Counselling and Coaching based on this model. During this period, he also completed Social Synthesis. He recently left academia to try to pull all these projects together and to focus on his final project: developing a comprehensive model of spiritual practice.
